{November 1, 2011}   The Many Moods of Doctor Doom

I’ve made no secret on this blog of my love of Doctor Doom. He is, in fact, the awesomest villain of all time. (This is a Fact. Don’t dispute me on it. You’ll be Wrong. All Hail Doom!)

One of the things that makes him so awesome? Even when wearing a mask made of solid metal, he can easily convey the depth of his emotions. Metal yields to the strength of his will!

And Doom? He is a man of many, many emotions. Some people make the mistake of thinking that his only emotions are anger, furor, and ire but that’s just not true. Our Once and Future Overlord is capable of of feeling feelings much, much deeper than that.

To get a glimpse into Doctor Doom’s soul, one needs to look no further than Fantastic Four #16 (July 1963)

See! It says he’s the “most amazing” right there on the cover. That makes it a FACT!

{April 17, 2010}   Pull List: 4/14/10

Eight books this week, none of which are ongoings I’ve been following for a while. If Marvel hadn’t added so much new stuff, it would’ve been a light week, but they did, so it wasn’t. Remember, these are my thoughts after reading, so anything is fair game for SPOILERS. If you don’t want to be spoiled on any of these comics, don’t read past the cut.

Pull List: Black Widow #1, Iron Man Legacy #1, Iron Man Noir #1, New Mutants #12, Siege: Captain America, Siege: Loki, Siege: Young Avengers, and X-Factor Forever #2.

Marvel put out too many comics this month, so I’m just now getting around to reading and reviewing the last couple weeks. (I’m pretty sure if I read more than just Marvel, I’d have to lock myself away for days just to keep caught up.)

My pull list was full this week, as Marvel continues its campaign to take all my money. Before you go below the cut, please bear in mind that these are my thoughts after I read my comics, so there will be SPOILERS. If you read anyway and get spoiled, it’s not my fault.

{December 4, 2009}   Pull List for 12/3/09

Well, there were no comics on Wednesday, so I had to change my usual title. Also, I seemed to have had the plague yesterday, so I ended up getting my comics two days later than usual. (The withdrawals have not been fun…) However, I have more than enough to make up for the delay since my pull list jumped from its usual 3-5 to 12. (Marvel wants me broke for the holidays….)

What I read this week: Uncanny X-Men #518, Iron Man vs. Whiplash #1, Iron Man Requiem, Strange #2, The Marvels Project #4, Deadpool Team-Up #898, The Torch #4, Black Widow and the Marvel Girls #1, Captain America Theater of War: Prisoners of Duty, Psylocke #2, Siege: The Cabal, and Thor #604.

Reminder: There are SPOILERS below the cut.

{November 11, 2009}   Meet…Doctor Doom!

As I stated in my intro post, I fucking love Doctor Doom. I would totally move to Latveria and let him become my evil overlord. (I hear that’s what all the kids are calling it these days…) If you knew the amount time I spent discussing Doctor Doom with my BFF, you may actually worry about my sanity. For reals. So it seemed fitting that this blog should include the classic The Fantastic Four #5. Before this comic, the world was cold, bleak, and Doom-less. But then, on that bright July day in 1962, the world finally knew the awesomeness that is Doom.
