Ms. Snarky's Awesometastic Comics Blog

As many of you have probably heard, Jim McCann and David Lopez (the creative team behind New Avengers: The Reunion) will soon be giving us an ongoing Hawkeye and Mockingbird series. As this was previously something I thought would be confined to my happiest daydreams (seriously I have sat around and thought about how awesome this very series would be), this is easily the best news I’ve heard all week (ever). In honor of this wondrous event, I’m bringing it back to the beginning: The Origins of Hawkeye.

Hawkeye’s first appearance comes in September 1964, in Tales of Suspense #57, by Stan Lee and Don Heck. (Yes, it’s yet another Iron Man comic, but this time it’s for Hawkeye, okay?) Hold on to your pointy facemasks, kids, because here we go…

{December 9, 2009}   Wednesday Aftermath: 12/9/09

This week was a bit more manageable than last week’s, and I was even able to read all my comics on the train ride home and everything. This week had six books: Invincible Iron Man #21, Deadpool #18, Black Widow Deadly Origin #2, New Avengers Annual, Nation X #1, and Wolverine: Under the Boardwalk.

There are SPOILERS in this post. Do not read if you don’t want them.

{December 4, 2009}   Pull List for 12/3/09

Well, there were no comics on Wednesday, so I had to change my usual title. Also, I seemed to have had the plague yesterday, so I ended up getting my comics two days later than usual. (The withdrawals have not been fun…) However, I have more than enough to make up for the delay since my pull list jumped from its usual 3-5 to 12. (Marvel wants me broke for the holidays….)

What I read this week: Uncanny X-Men #518, Iron Man vs. Whiplash #1, Iron Man Requiem, Strange #2, The Marvels Project #4, Deadpool Team-Up #898, The Torch #4, Black Widow and the Marvel Girls #1, Captain America Theater of War: Prisoners of Duty, Psylocke #2, Siege: The Cabal, and Thor #604.

Reminder: There are SPOILERS below the cut.

Just the fact that Marvel actually has a villain who calls himself Unicorn is enough to make me giggle uncontrollably. Literally. I am, in fact, giggling as I type this. I mean it’s a VILLAIN who takes his identity from a mystical, prancing creature. And it’s not even (supposed to be) a joke! (I love you, Marvel.)
